Work by Englewood Artist
Michael Raleigh
Wins Place in International Exhibition in New York
Artist Michael Raleigh,
of Englewood, New Jersey, has been selected to exhibit his work, "Window For The
Waiting", a painting in acrylic on canvas, in the international juried exhibition
"Abstraction 2003" at The Stage Gallery in Merrick, New York.
Mr. Raleigh's selection for this event was especially significant as his piece was one of
only 28 works selected from among thousands of slide entries from throughout the world by
exhibition juror and guest curator Phyllis Braff, Art Critic, The New York Times. The
exhibition displays imaginary or abstract works in all media, using either a non-objective
approach (as in abstract expressionism) or abstracted subject matter (as in cubism) to
create an image.
Mr. Raleighs work may be viewed online at www.michaelraleigh.com.
The
exhibition will run through Sunday evening, February 23, 2003. An artists reception
open to the public will be held on that day from 6-8PM. The gallery is located in the
Stage Theater building at 2222 Hewlett Avenue, Merrick, New York, with its entrance on
Sunrise Highway beneath the Merrick Long Island Railroad Station, about 35 minutes from
Manhattan. It is also easily accessible by all major metropolitan area highways, has ample
parking, and is handicapped-accessible. For further information call the gallery at 516
797 9115.
